Summary: Dutch student who
was among one of the 150 passengers and crew members killed in the airplane
crash of Germanwings Flight 9525 when the Airbus 320 jet crashed into a mountain
in the French Alps in southern France in March 2015 shortly after reaching
cruise altitude while the captain was locked out of the cockpit during a routine
flight from Barcelona, Spain to Düsseldorf, Germany in what would be the
third-deadliest air disaster in mainland France in four decades behind Turkish
Airlines Flight 981 in 1974, in which investigators said the plane was crashed
deliberately by its co-pilot Andreas Lubitz who had previously been treated for
suicidal tendencies and declared "unfit to work" by his doctor, but reported for duty nonetheless.
